Fastest growing wood refinishing franchise in the nation is connecting with family-driven entrepreneurs
N-Hance, the fastest wood refinishing franchise in the nation, is a business that many families thrive in – just take it from Dennis Pace.
Pace was an early adopter of the N-Hance business opportunity, opening in Spokane, Washington in 2001, the same year N-Hance was founded. With his family, he owns seven territories across Washington. Pace initially owned a Chem-Dry carpet cleaning franchise, the sister company to N-Hance.
Since he already knew and trusted Harris Research Inc., the parent company of N-Hance and of the most respected franchisors in the home services space, it wasnโt too large of a leap to run a franchise with both brands. He was familiar with the level of support HRI offers its franchises and he also saw a need for a wood refinishing business in his area,
โFor years, customers asked him what we could do for their wood floors,โ explains, Adam Blake, Paceโs son-in-law, who co-runs the business.
Blake is one of the three sons running the business, and he stresses that the success of his family-owned business is the result of setting up clear, defined roles when working with family to avoid stepping on toes. This division has helped them create a strong, and unified team and family. Every member of a family has unique skill-sets and interests, and if you foster a culture of collaboration and teamwork, a family can leverage the talents of their family members to make a powerful company.
Blake does most of the administrative and marketing work. Before joining the family business, Blake served as a Marine for five years and then studied business with an emphasis in entrepreneurial studies. Eric Cox, Dennisโ other son-in-law, manages the sales side of the business, giving customers estimates. He brings with him the knowledge he obtained from working in real-estate before. Jeffery Pace joined the business from the beginning. He runs the operations and trains all employees on N-Hanceโs proprietary processes and products.
N-Hance of Spokane has been in business for over sixteen years, and they have become one of N-Hanceโs top-performing franchises. Blake attributes much of that success to working with his family.
โEveryone is more than willing to put it more effort and work harder,โ Blake says. โThey are not just working hard for their own family, but for their brotherโs family, their sister-in-lawโs family. They want everyone to be doing wellโ.
N-Hanceโs endless custom color options, proprietary products, and processes are quickly making N-Hance Wood Refinishing a household name. N-Hance features a quick-dry process at an affordable price point with low VOC, little mess and no odors.
โWe provide unmatched service. We can take a customerโs kitchen and make it beautiful,โ Blake says. โWe can make it a showpiece in their home, a place where they can invite friends and family.โ
Since starting the business in 2004, Dennis Pace has taken a step back from the business. He still helps on jobs, and provides back-up, but the business is primarily run by his sons. He has created a thriving business and a legacy that not only filled a market gap in his community, but also provides for his sons, daughters, and grandkids.
