Fastest-growing wood refinishing franchise is capitalizing on the surge of consumer spending on home remodeling
The home remodeling industry is booming. The surge in consumer spending on home remodeling projects was $383.3 billion in 2017, according to The Joint Center for Housing Studies at Harvard University, and that number is poised to go up. The JCHS predicts the market will grow 7% in 2019, with Reuters reporting, “homeowners are expected to spend about $339 billion on remodeling in the first quarter of 2019, or a 6.9 percent increase from a year earlier, and $346.8 billion on remodeling in the second quarter of 2019.”
It shouldn’t surprise anyone that consumer spending on home remodeling projects is spent in the heart of the home: the kitchen. Empire Today conducted a survey to measure consumer spending, and their survey reveals that 54% of people choose to update their kitchens, and the most common reason is to give their kitchen a new look.
Giving kitchens a new look is where N-Hance excels. As the fastest growing wood refinishing franchise, N-Hance franchisees are their communities’ experts in delivering a beautiful and fast solution at an affordable price.
Even in prosperous economic times, consumers still want to save money. This is the reason Real Simple tapped Brigitte Ballard, a design and trend expert with N-Hance, to explain the multitude of options for consumers that will stretch their dollars, while also delivering the desired end result:
Ballard says you should refinish the cabinets already in your kitchen if the current design is functional. If you don’t want to change the set-up of your cabinets, refinishing them can give a dated color or stain a fresh new look without costing you a fortune or putting you and your family through a full-scale renovation. Updating hardware can also help make old cabinetry look new again.
High-quality wood cabinets are also solid candidates for refinishing. “Replacing your cabinets is a huge cost that is not completely necessary if the cabinets are less than 10 years old and made from a high-quality wood such as cherry, maple, ash, hickory, or oak,” Ballard says. Refinishing these hardy cabinets, instead of replacing them, can both conserve wood and money.
N-Hance launched a cabinet door replacement program to provide additional solutions for customers, while increasing profitability for franchise owners
Since becoming a franchise system in 2001, N-Hance has invested significantly in research and development to keep the service offerings on the cutting edge in the home remodeling industry. In 2018, N-Hance launched new product offerings, including a new Cabinet Door Replacement program, designed to target consumers at a higher price point. This offering also has the potential to substantially increase the average ticket price for N-Hance franchisees. Franchisees who offer it receive three full days of training at our newly expanded training facility in Logan, Utah.
For Daniel Geier, a franchisee in Pinellas County, Florida, what N-Hance offers customers has created a thriving business that greatly exceeded his expectations:
“My territory serves about 650,000 people in Pinellas County, Florida,” he says. “I can’t imagine ever running out of kitchens. I’m already at the point where previous customers are hiring me to work on their vacation properties, their rental properties, or simply come back and finish their kitchens. There’s a lot of opportunity to keep expanding, and there is far from a shortage of customers.”
